In the HIVE, middle school student-artists created short interactive fiction games on the theme of "desensitization." Students pitched story ideas and the most promising ones were selected for development. Students were put in small groups, with the authors acting as creative leaders over their peers. They elaborated their ideas collectively and put them together using Twine. A variety of illustration methods were used, including stop-motion animation, drawing, mixed media and found images.
