Artist Statement
During the global pandemic, EDM (Electronic Dance Music) helped me cope with the realities and anxieties of COVID-19. EDM is the inspiration for my Senior Say Si Project. Working virtually at home, I purchased and used Ableton, a digital audio workstation to experiment with various sound effects and styles. Ableton provides various instrument sounds and effects for the purpose of composing, recording, and mixing music. I experimented and edited sequences until the tracks felt right to me.By the end of the project, I got a little more confident over the music that I've made. With this and my dire love for creating some really interesting neat sounds, this senior project is the accumulation of years of potential creativity in a totally new format. This EP is influenced by the musical talents and creativity of my favorite EDM artist, Virtual Riot..
