Bio

First joining SAY Sí back as a freshman in high school, Aaron Villanueva started the program as a HIVE student, working on a variety of games and even making his own, like a sensory game called “Nightmare,” and an inside-joke-game called “SAY Sí Court.” Aaron eventually transferred into the ALAS Youth Theatre Company, growing into his acting skills by playing side characters in the annual SAYSi Night Live and eventually co-writing and playing the role of “Jasper, the theatre cat” in the following year's SAY Sí Night Live production. After high school, Aaron wants to attend college and study to prepare for biomedical informatics, game design, and IT.

Artist Statement

I made this project as a love letter to both HIVE and ALAS, those classes being the ones I have been involved in while at my time at SAY Sí. Before the quarantine, the project was originally going to be an interactive play, but instead I made it into a Twine project. The result is an interactive fiction which combines the theatrical elements of ALAS with the technical skills I developed in HIVE.
