Bio

Jackson Lundquist was born in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the Media Arts program of SAY Sí in 2018, hoping to learn more about video editing and post-production. Graduating from Holmes High School, he will attend Northwest Vista College and study computer science, hoping for a career in the field.

Artist Statement

Both of these images focus on the effects of filtering and overlays to convey an uneasy, discomforting feeling. In both pieces, the visual was achieved by overlaying several similar images on top of one another, then filtering the images until the final product looked interesting. In earlier versions of the series, I wanted to focus more on implementing a ghost-like effect through overlaying the images, giving a more blurry and uncertain appearance. Ultimately, I felt the unusual coloring achieved by the filtering effects seen in the final piece was more visually compelling.
