Bio

Mary Grace Garcia attended two high schools and graduated from St. Anthony Catholic school. She is a self-taught digital artist who has made art for most of her life. She loves to create worlds and characters that have different stories behind them. Joining SAY Sí during her freshman year of high school she joined the Home for Innovation and Video Ecology (HIVE) at SAY Sí. Her time there enabled her to use her skills of learning new media and using it to create more stories and art. She will attend University of the Incarnate Word, studying 3D animation and video game design.

Artist Statement

This comic art piece is based on a lamb fictional character I created that represents feelings I have had throughout my life. I love to create stories and to make characters who are relatable or have an interesting story to tell with their experiences. I loved creating and reading others' stories, so I wanted to make my senior project about a story to share with others. I chose to draw them in comics because you can follow the character and understand them more. I drew the characters in an art program on my computer and put them in panels like a comic. I based the character around how I feel and how I would react in certain situations. I wanted the characters to be interpreted in many different ways and so there is no answers so the reader must come to a conclusion themselves.
